In 1971, Montessori Country School was started by nine local families. In the past 40 years, the school has moved locations and expanded facilities. While the school has evolved, our mission and focus have remained steadfast: MCS strives to deliver the best preschool and kindergarten experience possible.
Since its inception, the school has remained a non-profit with oversight from a parent-run board of directors. We have a professional, full-time administrator and assistant who oversee the daily operations of the school, and a talented teaching staff of Montessori certified instructors with a combined total of over 100 years of service at MCS.
We strive to maintain a small, nurturing atmosphere with approximately 90 students enrolled per year. Following the example of the founding families, we emphasize the importance of family involvement and offer a variety of ways for parents to participate in their children’s “home away from home” and strengthen the school community. Some of our social events include: Ice Cream Social, Oktoberfest, Grandparents Day, and End of Year Picnic.
