After Care Options

 

We offer several schedule options for families requiring additional child care hours.  Our daily dismissal times include 12:00, 1:00, 3:00, 4:30 or 6:00 p.m.

 

All children in the Lunch Bunch, Extended Day or After Care program end their day in a designated after care room where they remain a part of our helpful, respectful and cooperative community.

 

Younger students leave their Montessori classroom at noon and join their lunch room where they first have a story/circle time and then prepare for a graceful lunch.

 

The Lunch Bunch students dismiss at 1:00 p.m.  Students staying after 1:00 p.m. have a short (VA state required) nap-time followed by additional playground time (weather permitting) or free play before going to the 2:45 to 3:00 p.m. dismissal.

 

At 2:45 p.m. our Kindergarten students staying for the After Care program join the group.  Many theme-based activities are offered to enrich the students learning day, including story/circle time, crafts, food projects, and games.  This program also includes free play, afternoon snack, and additional  outside playtime.  (Please dress your children appropriately for the weather since outside play is an integral part of the After Care program.)
